CHALLENGES:
Prior to Nulogy, Unette’s production and traceability processes were heavily reliant on manual workflows. Movement of inventory was manually tracked through its legacy system, which presented challenges for extracting business data.
Unette’s requirements were two-fold:
• Transition away from manual workflows by implementing a system that could help automate production processes and centralize production data.
• To support compliance processes, introduce digital validation capabilities to maintain high levels of product compliance.
RESULTS:
With the introduction of Nulogy, Unette barcoded its entire warehouse and introduced iPads and scanners for all forklift drivers and material handlers, enabling real time visibility for production movement. Unette was also one of the first customers to incorporate Nulogy’s audit trails and electronic signatures into their quality processes and partnered closely to complete their computer systems validation.
In addition, since implementing Nulogy, Unette:
- · Recorded zero non-conformance reports related to inventory management;
- · Reduced quality-related errors through inventory control;
- · Reduced receiving errors through Nulogy’s Receive Order function, while improving visibility, traceability, and accountability on the line;
- · Increased profit margins (reducing Direct Labor as a Percentage of Sales by 3 percentage points) by leveraging real-time production, shift reports, and scheduling functions;
- · Reduced order backlog, enabling the company to produce orders more quickly, and
- · Observed an increase in customer satisfaction rating.
By electronically tracking component usage and finished good production, the Nulogy platform allows us to perform traceability exercises in realtime. Within minutes we can tell our customers where their components were used and where the finished goods were shipped to.
