OEE Tracking Software

OEE tracking software measures Overall Equipment Effectiveness, the product of Availability, Performance, and Quality, in real time, so you can see exactly where you are losing production and act on it. Nulogy turns live machine data into a clear OEE score across every line, shift, and site, with no manual calculation.

What Is OEE?

Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is the single best measure of how much of your planned production time is truly productive. It rolls three losses into one score: time the machine was not running, time it ran slower than its ideal speed, and time spent making product that did not pass quality. An OEE of 100% means you are making only good parts, as fast as possible, with no stop time.

OEE = Availability × Performance × Quality

How to Calculate OEE

OEE is the product of its three factors. Track each in real time and the score updates itself, with no spreadsheets:

Availability

Run Time / Planned Time

The share of scheduled time the line is actually running. It captures breakdowns, changeovers, and unplanned downtime.

Performance

(Ideal Cycle × Count) / Run Time

How close the line runs to its ideal speed. It captures slow cycles and the short stops operators rarely log.

Quality

Good Count / Total Count

The share of parts made right the first time. It captures scrap, rework, and rejects.

Worked example: a line available 90% of planned time, running at 95% of ideal speed, with 99% quality has an OEE of 0.90 × 0.95 × 0.99 = 85%. That 85% is widely considered world-class for discrete manufacturing; many plants discover they are closer to 60% once they measure it in real time. For the difference between OEE and related metrics, see OEE vs OPE vs TEEP.

Why Track OEE

1

Find Your Real Losses

One score tells you whether the problem is downtime, speed, or quality, so improvement effort goes where it actually pays.

2

Capture the Stops Nobody Logs

Automatic data collection catches micro-stops and slow cycles that paper logs miss, the losses that quietly erode performance.

3

Free Capacity You Already Own

Raising OEE makes more product on the same equipment. See where to look in manufacturing capacity.

4

Compare Lines, Shifts, and Sites

A consistent OEE score makes performance comparable everywhere, so best practices spread instead of staying on one line.

How Nulogy Tracks OEE

OEE tracking is one capability of Nulogy Smart Factory. It connects to your existing equipment with no rip-and-replace, captures availability, performance, and quality data straight from the machine, and shows a live OEE score by line, shift, and product. Because it runs on the same platform as production monitoring and connected maintenance, an OEE dip and the work order to fix it live on the same data, and you can ask Nora, the built-in AI assistant, why a number moved.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is OEE tracking software?
OEE tracking software measures Overall Equipment Effectiveness (Availability × Performance × Quality) in real time from machine data, so you can see where you are losing production and improve it, with no manual calculation. In Nulogy it is part of Smart Factory.
How is OEE calculated?
OEE = Availability × Performance × Quality. Availability is run time / planned time, Performance is (ideal cycle × count) / run time, and Quality is good count / total count. A line at 90% / 95% / 99% has an OEE of 85%. Try it in the OEE calculator.
What is a good OEE score?
85% is widely considered world-class for discrete manufacturing. Many plants run closer to 60% once they measure it in real time. See also OEE vs OPE vs TEEP.
How does Nulogy track OEE?
Nulogy Smart Factory connects to existing equipment with no rip-and-replace and shows a live OEE score by line, shift, and product, on the same platform as production monitoring and maintenance.
