Manual supplier quality management at global scale
Autoliv’s quality management system relied on legacy IBM software and Excel spreadsheets. Data was collated by hand and reports were built manually before being shared with suppliers, which limited visibility into supplier performance and made compliance with local regulations and Autoliv’s own standards hard to ensure.
The legacy system had no real-time communication, so feedback lagged behind audits, and supplier status updates did not reach purchasing in time, affecting parts delivery and procurement.
